Seit dem 22. Juni 2016 hat das Spiel The Hero Trap offiziell die Entwicklung eingestellt. Die Gründe für das Scheitern lassen sich in zwei Kategorien aufteilen: Wegbruch eines Klienten auf der einen Seite des Geschäfts und fehlende Finanzierung auf der anderen Seite. Letztere konnte eine Weile mit eigenen Mitteln ausgeglichen werden, aber das war keine Lösung auf Dauer.
