Auf dem offiziellen PlayStation-Blog ist nun die offizielle Bestätigung erfolgt. Das Spiel wird nicht nur Teil des PS+-Angebots sein, sondern auch am sechsten Oktober erscheinen. Fans des Klassikers müssen aber damit leben, dass die Musik vom Originalspiel den Sprung auf die PS4 und PS Vita nicht geschafft haben. Ihr müsst aber nicht ohne Musik spielen. Team Meat hat sich mit anderen Künstlern zusammengesetzt und extra neue Musik für das fünfjährige Jubiläum von Super Meat Boy komponiert. Die Komponisten haben schon an Projekten wie Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Hotline Miami und Plants vs. Zombies mitgearbeitet.
